Nearly all businesses in Cyprus are now connected to high-speed internet, and more are adopting e-commerce and artificial intelligence, according to a 2025 survey by the Statistical Service.
The report said 98 percent of enterprises have fixed internet connections, with 87 percent using speeds above 100 megabits per second, up sharply from 45 percent in 2021.
Almost one in four companies received online orders for goods or services in 2024, mostly through websites or apps. About 22 percent sold to private customers, while 10 percent sold to other businesses or public authorities.
Artificial intelligence use is also rising. The survey found 9 percent of enterprises used AI technologies in 2025, compared with 3 percent in 2021. Large firms led adoption at 35 percent, followed by medium-sized firms at 15 percent and small firms at 8 percent.
Business software is widespread, with 41 percent of companies using enterprise resource planning systems, 33 percent using customer relationship management tools and 22 percent using business intelligence software.
The survey also noted that about one-quarter of enterprises use ICT systems to reduce energy consumption or materials use, while nearly 69 percent recycle old equipment through electronic waste facilities.
