FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Cypriot Defense Minister Vasilis Palmas announced that €3 million of Cyprus’ contribution to the European Peace Mechanism was allocated to Ukraine’s military needs.
Responding to a question from AKEL Deputy Yorgos Kukumas on August 24, 2024, Palmas revealed that Cyprus contributed €5.5 million to the European Peace Mechanism between 2021 and 2024. Of this amount, €3,098,571 was directed toward military support for Ukraine.
The European Peace Mechanism funds the European Union’s foreign policy initiatives in defense and military fields, Palmas noted.
