Most Cypriots say they are satisfied with their lives but remain concerned about rising prices and the cost of living, according to a new Eurobarometer survey.
The poll, conducted in October and November, found that 84% of respondents were satisfied with their lives, close to the EU average.
But 37% cited inflation and living costs as the country’s top problem.
Migration followed at 35%, well above the EU average, while 23% pointed to the economic situation.
Cypriots also named migration as the main issue facing the European Union, ahead of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and rising living costs.
The survey found low trust in EU institutions, with 57% saying they do not trust the bloc. Views of the EU were mostly neutral or positive.
Dissatisfaction with how democracy functions in Cyprus reached 67%.
Majorities also said their views do not count at either the national or EU level.
Radio was the most trusted news source, followed by television. Overall, 68% said the country is moving in the wrong direction, compared with 60% across the EU.
