FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Elevated dust concentrations were observed across Cyprus on April 2, 2025, according to data from the Air Quality Monitoring Network operated by the Department of Labour Inspection.
The public, especially vulnerable groups such as children, older individuals, and those with health conditions, are advised to avoid outdoor activities during the dust episode, as fine respirable particles (PM10) can negatively impact health.
Employers are reminded to adhere to The Safety and Health at Work (Code of Practice for the Protection of Persons at Work During Dust Episodes) Order of 2022 (P.I. 410/2022) by assessing risks and implementing measures to protect employees working outdoors. The use of personal protective equipment is strongly recommended for such workers.
