Cyprus Inflation Falls 0.5% in November

Consumer prices in Cyprus fell in November, with the Consumer Price Index down 0.5 percent from the previous month, the Statistical Service has said.

The index dropped 0.68 points to 117.57 units, compared with 118.25 in October.

Compared with November 2024, services rose 3.1 percent, while electricity fell 7.9 percent and agricultural products dropped 6.2 percent. From October to November, agricultural products recorded the steepest decline at 7.6 percent.

Year-on-year, clothing and footwear fell 7.6 percent, food and non-alcoholic beverages dropped 3.1 percent, while restaurants and hotels rose 5 percent and education climbed 3.3 percent.

For the January–November period, clothing and footwear were down 6.4 percent, while restaurants and hotels rose 4.7 percent, education 3.7 percent and recreation and culture 3.2 percent.

The largest positive impact on the CPI compared with a year earlier came from restaurants and hotels, education and recreation, while food and clothing had the biggest negative effects. Month-to-month, food and non-alcoholic beverages weighed most heavily on the index.

Fresh vegetables had the largest negative impact compared with October, while potatoes provided the biggest positive contribution.
