FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – A large-scale repatriation operation is underway from Cyprus with 21 special flights scheduled from Larnaca Airport to return approximately 2,500 Israeli citizens amid ongoing regional unrest.

The flights include eight bound for Haifa, five for Tel Aviv, and another eight to Aqaba, Jordan — where returning passengers will proceed by land into Israel.

The coordinated airlift comes as Israeli airspace remains restricted due to missile attacks, prompting urgent efforts to retrieve citizens stranded abroad.

Alongside air transport, repatriation is also being carried out by sea, with vessels arriving and departing from Larnaca Marina.

The operation unfolds under stringent security conditions.

Iran’s strike in southern Israel on Thursday morning targeted military intelligence facilities, reported Iran’s state news agency IRNA.

The report denied reports that the strike targeted a hospital earlier in the day, saying it was aimed at the Israeli army’s C4I telecommunications corps headquarters and an intelligence facility, adding that the hospital was affected by the blast’s shockwave.

Several media outlets reported that an Iranian missile hit Soroka Medical Center in the southern city of Beersheba, Israel, with officials reporting “extensive damage.”
