FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Temperatures are soaring once again, prompting the Meteorological Service to issue yet another heat warning—this time at the orange alert level for extreme maximum temperatures.
The advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time, with the mercury expected to climb to 43°C (109°F) inland and 34°C (93°F) in mountainous areas.
Meanwhile, the risk of wildfires remains at red alert status. Authorities urge the public to report any signs of fire immediately by calling the Fire Service at 199 or the Forestry Department at 1407.
