Paphos Mayor Phedon Phedonos has raised alarm over a surge in bombings and attempted murders linked to organized crime, calling on the government and police to take immediate action.
Speaking in Paphos, Phedonos said criminal networks from abroad are collaborating with local groups, fueling violence that has shaken public confidence and business security.
“These incidents are increasing rapidly and tarnishing our country’s international reputation as a service hub,” he said.
The mayor urged authorities to respond decisively to prevent further escalation and restore public safety.
