Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides will travel to Israel on Monday for a bilateral visit and to take part in the 10th Cyprus–Greece–Israel trilateral summit.

Government spokesman Konstantinos Letymbiotis said the meeting comes two years after the last trilateral summit in Nicosia and follows the events of Oct. 7, 2023.

He said the format has become a stable platform for regional cooperation in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Talks are expected to focus on energy, economic ties, defense, cybersecurity, maritime security and regional connectivity.

Leaders will also discuss strengthening the “3+1” framework with the United States, Letymbiotis said.

Energy cooperation will feature prominently, including efforts to advance existing and new infrastructure projects following the recent Cyprus–Lebanon maritime boundary agreement.

Cyprus will also outline its role in regional stabilization efforts, particularly in Gaza, in humanitarian support, security and future reconstruction.

Christodoulides will hold separate meetings with Israel’s president and prime minister before the summit. Cypriot and Israeli foreign and energy ministers will also meet. The president is due back in Cyprus late Monday.
