FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Critical public infrastructure remains at risk from cyberattacks, unlike the private sector—which has fully implemented the Digital Security Authority’s recommendations, according to Assistant Superintendent Petros Galidis.
He made the remarks before the Parliament’s Finance Committee.
Galidis said that 47 employees originally hired by the Authority have left, resulting in a significant loss of expertise and leaving 35 positions vacant.
He also noted that Authority staff went unpaid in March because the budget was not approved.
The pending budget, he warned, could jeopardize European funds.
