Cyprus will raise its national minimum wage to €1,088 per month starting Jan. 1, 2026, under a new adjustment mechanism aimed at covering 50 percent of the country’s median wage.
Labor Minister Marinos Moushiouttas said the minimum monthly wage for full‑time employees will increase from €1,000 to €1,088 after six months of continuous employment with the same employer. About 50,000 workers are expected to benefit from the change, he said.
The decision was approved by the Cabinet during its afternoon meeting. Moushiouttas said the revised decree also includes provisions for employees who have not yet completed six consecutive months of full‑time work with the same employer.
