A seasonal low-pressure system is affecting Cyprus today, bringing mostly clear skies in the morning with increasing cloud cover by afternoon. Isolated showers or a brief thunderstorm may develop, particularly over mountainous areas.
Winds will blow mainly from the southwest to northwest, starting off light at 3 Beaufort and strengthening to moderate at 4 Beaufort by late afternoon.
Southern coastal areas may experience stronger gusts reaching 5 Beaufort.
The sea will be slightly rough. Temperatures will rise to 36°C inland, 30°C along the western coast, around 32°C on other coastal areas, and 25°C in the higher mountains.
Tonight, conditions will remain mostly clear. Winds will shift to northwesterly, staying light to occasionally moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort.
The sea will remain calm to slightly disturbed. Overnight lows will drop to 21°C inland, 24°C on the western coast, around 22°C elsewhere along the coast, and 16°C in mountainous regions.
Looking ahead to Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, the weather will stay mostly sunny with occasional patches of increased cloudiness.
Temperatures are expected to gradually rise, hovering slightly above seasonal averages.
