A weak low‑pressure system is affecting the region, and dust is expected in the atmosphere on Thursday and Friday.
Today, skies will be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy at times, with isolated showers and a chance of an isolated thunderstorm. Snow or sleet may fall on the highest peaks of Troodos. Winds will be southwesterly to northwesterly at light to moderate strength, 3–4 Beaufort, and locally moderate to strong, 4–5 Beaufort. Seas will be slight to locally moderate. Temperatures will reach 19°C inland and along the coast, and 7°C in the higher mountains.
Tonight will remain partly cloudy, with isolated showers and a possible isolated thunderstorm, mainly in the western half of the island. Winds will stay mostly southwesterly, light to moderate, 3–4 Beaufort, and briefly moderate to strong, 4–5 Beaufort, in some areas. Seas will be slight. Temperatures will drop to 9°C inland, 15°C on the west coast, 12°C on the remaining coasts, and 3°C in the higher mountains, where patchy frost may form.
On Thursday, isolated showers are expected at first, mainly in the west, becoming more widespread later with a chance of isolated thunderstorms elsewhere. Friday will be cloudy with local showers and isolated storms, and snow or sleet may fall again on the highest Troodos peaks.
Saturday will start mostly cloudy with a chance of isolated showers, but conditions will improve quickly.
Temperatures will show little change and will remain above seasonal averages.
