An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 jolted Dodecanese Islands, Greece at 0749 GMT on Monday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 36.53 degrees north latitude and 25.63 degrees east longitude.
The Dodecanese are a group of Greek islands located in the southeastern Aegean Sea and the Eastern Mediterranean, off the coast of Turkey’s Anatolia. This island group consists of 15 larger islands and around 150 smaller ones, with 26 of them being inhabited. The Dodecanese generally define the eastern limit of the Sea of Crete.
Some of the most well-known islands in the Dodecanese include Rhodes, Kos, and Patmos.
