FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to facilitating negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, calling for broader international support to secure peace.
Speaking Friday on his return flight from Albania, where he attended a European Political Community meeting, Erdogan said Türkiye “will make every effort to keep channels of dialogue open between the parties” and continue mediation efforts.
“We look forward to the support from all relevant parties, including the European Union, for the sensitive process we are advancing to ensure the swift establishment of peace,” Erdogan said.
His comments followed the first direct talks between Russian and Ukrainian delegations in three years, held Friday in Istanbul.
