The European Commission says it has found clear evidence that EU medical device suppliers are not being given fair access to Chinese public procurement, a finding that could lead to restrictions on Chinese suppliers in Europe.
The Commission says it is assessing how it could prevent discrimination against EU medical devices.
In April 2024, the Commission launched its first investigation under its International Procurement Instrument (IPI). Its aim is to ensure reciprocity in access to public procurement.
