Greece: Two Minor Earthquakes Felt Overnight in Athens Suburbs

ATHENS — A mild earthquake measuring 2.5 on the Richter scale struck Kifisia at 1:40 a.m. Thursday, shaking several areas across Attica.

According to the revised data from the Geodynamic Institute of Athens, the epicenter was located one kilometer north of Kifisia, with a focal depth of 11.1 kilometers.

Just hours earlier, at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, a separate tremor measuring 2.0 was recorded near Filothei. That quake had a focal depth of 11.5 kilometers and its epicenter was pinpointed two kilometers west-southwest of Chalandri.

Both quakes were minor but noticeable, contributing to a string of low-magnitude seismic activity in the region. No damage or injuries have been reported.
