Greek Defense Minister Visits Lebanon to Strengthen Cooperation

FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Greek Minister of National Defense Nikos Dendias has met with Lebanese Defense Minister Michel Menassah during an official visit to Lebanon.

The two held private talks and led bilateral discussions focused on enhancing defense cooperation and regional security.

Following the meetings, Dendias highlighted the strong ties between Greece and Lebanon, expressing Greece’s commitment to supporting Lebanon’s prosperity and security.

“We are close, we are friends, neighbors, and we believe in the future of Lebanon,” Dendias said. He also welcomed the formation of Lebanon’s new government and the election of President Joseph Aoun, whom he later met at the Presidential Palace.

Dendias reiterated Greece’s intention to assist Lebanon’s armed forces and promote defense diplomacy rooted in international law.

The visit also underscored Greece’s broader strategic focus on fostering stability and cooperation in the Eastern Mediterranean.
