Iranian authorities have executed a man convicted of espionage for Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad, the judiciary’s Mizan news agency reported Sunday.
The unnamed individual was put to death Saturday at a prison in Qom province, according to provincial chief justice Seyed Kazem Mousavi. Officials said the man began cooperating with Israeli intelligence in October 2023 and was arrested in February 2024.
Mousavi said the convict confessed to passing sensitive information to Israel and was sentenced to death after legal proceedings.
Iranian intelligence services reportedly intercepted the activity before any data was transferred.
