The President of Iraqi Kurdistan, Nechirvan Barzani, has welcomed Abdullah Öcalan’s call for the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) to disband.
“We warmly welcome Öcalan’s message, and we urge the PKK to follow and implement this message,” Barzani wrote on X.
He added that the Kurdistan Region fully supports the peace process and is committed to ensuring its success.
The PKK is classified as a terrorist organization by Turkey, NATO, the US, and the EU.
