Israel has carried out several airstrikes against two military targets on the outskirts of the Syrian capital Damascus, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).
Journalists from the AFP news agency reported hearing loud explosions and fighter jets flying over the city.
Israeli aircraft conducted four strikes on the headquarters of a military unit southwest of Damascus. Simultaneously, another Israeli strike targeted a military position in Daraa province, as reported by SOHR.
The Israeli military (IDF) confirmed the airstrikes, stating that they targeted sites where weapons were stored in southern Syria.
