Israeli airlines are expected to resume their direct routes from Tel Aviv and Haifa to Paphos, according to Israeli media reports.

Flights were suspended on January 26 when Shin Bet, Israel’s internal intelligence agency, issued a directive banning all flights by Israeli companies at the airport due to security concerns.

The suspension had garnered international attention since Paphos Airport mainly serves chartered tourist flights and low-cost carriers.

Although the directive to lift the ban has not yet been issued, an aviation industry official indicated that it should be expected soon.

EL AL has already begun selling air tickets to Paphos on its website for flights starting from March 7.

Arkia Airlines has tickets available from March 13, while Israir and Air Haifa are expected to resume flights to Paphos in April.
