Israeli forces wounded two Palestinians and detained about 40 others in raids across the West Bank on Tuesday, Palestinian officials said.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said a 13‑year‑old boy and a young man were shot in the thigh during an Israeli operation in the al‑Amari refugee camp south of Ramallah. Local sources said special forces entered the camp before dawn, raided homes and sparked clashes.

Palestinian security officials said troops also stormed Birzeit University, detaining five security guards, closing the campus gates and deploying soldiers in several buildings. The university suspended classes and administrative work, citing safety concerns.

Israeli forces entered Al‑Quds University in Abu Dis, east of Jerusalem, disrupting operations with military vehicles stationed between faculties, according to Palestinian sources. The Education Ministry condemned the raids as violations of international norms protecting schools.

Separately, the PLO’s Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission said Israeli authorities demolished three homes in Hebron belonging to the Harb family, despite legal appeals.

The Palestinian Prisoners Club said at least 40 people were detained in Hebron, Nablus, Bethlehem and other cities, adding that more than 21,000 Palestinians have been arrested in the West Bank since Oct. 7, 2023.

Local sources also reported settler attacks in Bethlehem and Hebron, including arson against homes, vehicles and farm equipment.

Israel often describes its raids as counterterrorism operations. There was no immediate comment from Israeli authorities.
