FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Mosquito control spraying is ongoing in Larnaca, with a focus on storm drains and open water channels.
In collaboration with health services, authorities are also informing residents about preventive measures.
The municipality emphasized that individuals must ensure their homes, businesses, and properties remain free of stagnant water, which serves as breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
The mosquito species currently present in Cyprus are capable of transmitting infectious diseases such as yellow fever, dengue fever, Zika virus, and West Nile virus.
Residents are urged to take precautions to reduce mosquito populations and prevent the spread of disease.
