The municipality of Aradippou, in Larnaca, is deploying artificial intelligence to detect and prevent fires within its boundaries, the newspaper Politis reported.
Under a contract signed between the municipality and the company Neuranet Solutions Ltd., AI-powered fire detection devices will be installed in select areas within the municipality, the paper said.
Politis said fires in areas including the industrial zone, landfill site and municipal building would be detected through a network of seven observation stations and an AI-powered transmitter station.
