Maccabi Tel Aviv held off a late rally to beat Valencia Basket 85-82 in the EuroLeague on Thursday night.
The loss dropped Valencia to 11-6, while Maccabi improved to 7-10 with its fourth straight win. The game was moved to Jerusalem’s Pais Arena, with Maccabi’s usual Tel Aviv venue unavailable.
Valencia led early, but Maccabi pulled ahead before halftime and stretched the margin to 85-73 with under five minutes left. Matt Costello cut the deficit to three in the final seconds, but Valencia missed three 3‑point attempts on its last possession.
Lonnie Walker scored 14 points for Maccabi. Iffe Lundberg added 12 points and seven assists to earn MVP honors. Kameron Taylor led Valencia with 15.
Valencia hosts Baskonia on Tuesday. Maccabi visits Partizan in Belgrade later in the week.
