FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – French President Emmanuel Macron is expected to visit Cyprus before the end of the year, officials said Thursday following a meeting between Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, who is in Cyprus on an official visit.
The upcoming trip will mark Macron’s first bilateral visit to the Republic of Cyprus and is seen as a significant moment in strengthening the already close ties between the two nations across multiple sectors.
During Thursday’s meeting, officials said the visit would provide an opportunity to discuss shared priorities, including the deepening of institutional cooperation through the finalization and signing of an upgraded Strategic Agreement. The accord is expected to launch a new phase of enhanced collaboration between Cyprus and France.
