FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Pope Francis is set to be discharged from Rome’s Gemelli Hospital on Sunday after a five-week stay, according to his doctor.
The 88-year-old pontiff, who was hospitalized on February 14 for treatment of double pneumonia, will require two months of rest and recovery at the Vatican.
The Vatican has announced that the Pope will greet and bless the crowd outside the hospital on Sunday before returning to his residence.
His condition had been critical at times during his hospitalization, but doctors have confirmed significant improvement in recent weeks.
