Invitations have been sent out for Syria’s long-awaited National Dialogue Conference, scheduled to begin on February 25.The preparatory committee made the announcement on Sunday.
Committee member Huda Al-Atassi emphasized the inclusivity of the conference, stating that extensive consultations had been conducted across Syria’s provinces to ensure broad representation.
“We have witnessed a remarkable level of national consensus among Syrians, which has greatly facilitated our work,” she said at a press briefing.
Key priorities identified by participants include transitional justice, constitutional development, institutional and economic reforms, national unity, and civil and political freedoms.
Al-Atassi also highlighted calls for a temporary constitutional declaration to guide the transitional period, an economic recovery plan, and restructuring government institutions to increase public participation.
Security and stability for rebuilding state institutions were also significant themes.
Hassan Al-Daghim, spokesperson for the Preparatory Committee, outlined the timeline, noting that international participants are expected to arrive on Monday, with the conference set to commence shortly thereafter.
Final logistical and security arrangements are still being finalized.
