In a bold move, President Donald Trump has issued a presidential order granting Elon Musk’s Office of Efficiency, known as Doge, the authority to scrutinize government spending.
The order, posted on the White House website, mandates that all federal agencies and departments map out their expenditures on contracts, grants, and loans within a month.
Musk’s Doge team will work alongside the heads of various federal agencies to review each agency’s spending.
The order states that contracts and awards will be terminated or modified as necessary to promote efficiency and align with Trump administration policies.
The process is set to begin immediately and must be completed within 30 days.
This initiative aims to streamline government operations and reduce public waste, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to fiscal responsibility.
