FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that the United States has “pretty much” resumed intelligence sharing with Ukraine, following a freeze that began earlier this month.
The suspension, which coincided with a halt in arms deliveries, was initially implemented to pressure Ukraine into advancing peace talks with Russia.
CIA Director John Ratcliffe confirmed last week that intelligence sharing had been paused, with information instead being shared with allies like Britain under strict conditions. Ratcliffe also indicated that the decision could be revisited.
Trump expressed optimism about upcoming discussions between U.S. and Ukrainian officials in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, suggesting potential progress in peace negotiations. The talks are expected to address both security guarantees and economic agreements, including a minerals deal between the two nations.
