Violence Mars PSG’s Champions League Celebrations in France

FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Celebrations in France following Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League victory turned violent, with deadly clashes reported across the country.

At least two people were killed, including a teenager who was fatally stabbed, while more than 200 others were injured, among them dozens of police officers.

Security forces made 500 arrests, most of them in Paris, where violent confrontations erupted between PSG supporters and police, who deployed tear gas to control the unrest.

More than 200 vehicles were set on fire, and acts of vandalism targeted bus stops and other public property in the Champs-Élysées, the heart of the French capital.

Authorities also responded to hundreds of fires, leading to injuries among firefighters, with at least seven reported hurt in the chaos.
