FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Dozens of flights to and from Bali were canceled Wednesday after a volcanic eruption on the island of Flores sent an ash column more than 10 kilometers into the air, authorities said.
The eruption at Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki led airlines including Jetstar, Virgin Australia, Air India, Air New Zealand, Tigerair, and Juneyao Airlines to cancel flights.
Domestic routes with AirAsia, including flights to Flores, were also affected.
Jetstar said some afternoon flights were postponed in hopes that conditions would improve by evening.
