FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Turkish police have detained 32 individuals, including municipal officials in Istanbul, for allegedly financing the outlawed Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party-Front (DHKP-C).
According to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, the suspects had set up a committee to support the DHKP-C, with funds obtained through corrupt tenders in several district municipalities in Istanbul.
Arrest warrants led to simultaneous police operations across 31 locations in the provinces of Samsun, Bursa, Izmir, and Istanbul.
The DHKP-C, classified as a terrorist group by Türkiye, is responsible for various attacks, including a 2013 suicide bombing at the U.S. embassy in Ankara.
