FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Police arrested five people in Larnaca following a public disturbance involving a group of young individuals, authorities said.

Officers conducting a routine patrol to prevent youth delinquency spotted the group causing a disruption in a public area.

When police attempted to restore order, an 18-year-old and a 16-year-old woman refused to comply with instructions and were arrested on misdemeanor charges.

During the arrests, a 19-year-old man intervened, obstructing officers, leading to his detention for obstruction. Later, while the suspects were being held at Larnaca Police Headquarters, a 17-year-old and a 22-year-old entered the facility illegally and were arrested on trespassing charges.

The 16-year-old was released after being charged, while the other detainees remain in custody. Authorities continue their investigation.
