Police carried out coordinated overnight patrols across Cyprus aimed at preventing serious crime, maintaining public order and strengthening the sense of security among residents, authorities said Friday.
The operations led to the arrest of one person on suspicion of illegal possession of property.
During the night, officers stopped and checked 379 drivers and passengers, and conducted 20 inspections of premises as part of efforts to curb criminal activity.
Traffic enforcement resulted in 117 citations for various offences, while five additional traffic‑related cases are under investigation. Police said the violations included 12 drivers testing over the legal alcohol limit and three testing positive for drugs. Two vehicles were seized.
Police added that targeted patrols and enhanced visibility will continue daily as part of ongoing crime‑prevention efforts.
