FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Several areas in the Paphos district have been without water since Sunday due to a serious failure in the main supply pipeline.
The municipalities of Paphos and Akamas, along with the communities of Chlorakas and Lemba, have been most affected.
According to the Water Development Department, the pipeline damage is located at a significant depth, complicating repair efforts. A major leak occurred north of Geroskipou, reportedly caused by the collapse of a steep embankment under which the pipeline runs.
Authorities expect full restoration of the water supply by Monday.
