FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – Israeli authorities announced Tuesday that activists aboard a humanitarian aid vessel bound for Gaza, which was recently intercepted, are now at Ben Gurion Airport awaiting deportation.

According to a statement from Israel’s Foreign Ministry on social media, passengers of the vessel Selfie Yacht have arrived at the airport to depart Israel and return to their home countries. Those who refuse to sign deportation documents and leave will be brought before a judicial authority.

The sailing vessel Madleen, seized Monday morning by Israeli authorities as it attempted to reach Gaza carrying humanitarian aid and 12 pro-Palestinian activists—including Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg—arrived at Israel’s Ashdod port, according to an AFP photographer.

Escorted by two Israeli Navy ships, the vessel entered Ashdod’s port after nightfall.
