FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – At least 19 people were injured Friday evening when fireworks detonated prematurely during a carnival event in Düsseldorf, Germany.
The local fire department said one child was among the injured, and four individuals suffered serious injuries.
During the fireworks show at the Düsseldorfer Rheinkirmes, one firework exploded at an unusually low altitude for unknown reasons. Police are investigating but currently believe the incident was accidental.
Organizers ended the festival early due to the accident.
