FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE – A 58-year-old domestic worker from Sri Lanka was fatally struck by a vehicle Friday morning while attempting to cross Omonia Avenue in Limassol, Cyprus.
Authorities said the driver fled the scene and is now wanted by police. An arrest warrant has been issued for the suspect, identified as 18 years old. Police released the suspect’s photo to the public.
The victim, Dayawathi Salpantoru, had been living in Cyprus alone. This marks the eighth road death recorded in Limassol so far this year.
