FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE — The Department of Antiquities under Cyprus’s Deputy Ministry of Culture has unveiled a newly configured archaeological site at the “Islands” location in Protaras, near Paralimni, featuring the remains of a Neolithic settlement.

Perched on a low hill overlooking the beach at Vyzakia, the site contains the excavated foundations of dwellings dating back several millennia.

Officials say the redesign allows visitors to explore the area more easily, with access to new signage offering visual and informational material on prehistoric life and excavation findings.

Authorities hope it will enhance public understanding of Cyprus’s early settlement history and offer a window into Neolithic domestic and social life.
