FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE — Authorities in Nicosia arrested a 21-year-old man late Wednesday in connection with an ongoing investigation into illegal drug possession, police said.
The arrest was carried out by the Drug Law Enforcement Unit (YKAN) under a court warrant issued against the suspect.
The investigation stems from a July 29 incident in which more than six kilograms of cannabis were discovered and seized in Nicosia.
Following the arrest, police searched the suspect’s residence and confiscated a sum of money, a mobile phone, two SIM cards, and a laptop computer.
The Nicosia branch of YKAN is continuing its investigation.
