A Limassol district court on Tuesday ordered a 28‑year‑old Nicosia resident held for six days in connection with a Jan. 25 break‑in and arson at a car dealership in the city.

Police said two luxury vehicles were destroyed and five others were damaged in the fire, which also caused extensive damage to the showroom.

Although investigators say they have testimony implicating him, the suspect denies any involvement.

CCTV footage allegedly shows the perpetrator smashing the glass frontage of the dealership, dousing vehicles with a flammable liquid and setting them alight.
