The official YouTube channel of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has been removed from the platform. The reason for the removal remains unclear.

According to state-run Venezuelan media, the account had more than 200,000 subscribers and featured videos of Maduro’s speeches and appearances on state television. The channel disappeared Friday evening without explanation.

Google, which owns YouTube, has not commented on the specific case but states on its website that accounts may be removed for repeated violations of its policies, including the spread of misinformation, hate speech, or content that “undermines democratic processes.”

Maduro has faced allegations of electoral fraud following Venezuela’s July 2024 presidential election. The European Union, United States, and United Nations have all expressed concerns, citing the lack of full transparency in the release of voting data.

The removal of the channel comes amid escalating tensions between the U.S. and Venezuela.
