PAPHOS, Cyprus— A blaze severely damaged an unoccupied apartment in a tourist complex on Danais Avenue in Paphos, according to the Fire Service.
Spokesperson Andreas Kettis posted on Platform X that the Paphos fire station responded to the incident at 4:05 p.m. on Tuesday, dispatching two fire engines to the scene.
The apartment, which spans a ground and first floor, was empty at the time of the fire.
Furniture and contents including clothing, paper goods, and miscellaneous items were heavily damaged. Firefighters used hose reels and breathing apparatus to extinguish the flames. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
