World Leaders Send Independence Day Greetings to Cyprus

NICOSIA, Cyprus — International leaders have extended their congratulations to the Republic of Cyprus on the occasion of its Independence Day, highlighting strong bilateral ties and regional cooperation.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio described Cyprus as a valued partner of the United States, noting that bilateral collaboration boosts trade, combats illicit financial flows, and strengthens regional security — contributing to the prosperity of both nations.

Chinese President Xi Jinping congratulated President Nikos Christodoulides, emphasizing that next year marks the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Cyprus, as well as the fifth anniversary of their strategic partnership. Xi expressed readiness to work with Christodoulides to further deepen the traditional friendship between the two peoples.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi also sent his regards, referring to the long-standing friendship between Cyprus and Egypt. He affirmed that through joint efforts, bilateral cooperation will continue to grow for the benefit of both nations.
