Israel transferred 15 Palestinian bodies to Gaza on Sunday via the International Committee of the Red Cross, bringing the total number of bodies returned to 150, according to Gaza’s health authorities.
Medical teams in Gaza are processing the remains in line with official protocols, preparing them for examination, documentation, and eventual handover to families, officials said in a statement.
The transfer is part of a broader ceasefire agreement brokered by Egypt, Qatar, Türkiye, and the United States, which took effect on Oct. 10. The deal’s first phase includes prisoner exchanges, humanitarian aid deliveries, and partial Israeli troop withdrawals.
So far, Hamas has released 20 living Israeli hostages and 13 of the 28 bodies it agreed to return. Israel has freed 250 Palestinian prisoners serving long or life sentences, along with 1,718 detainees from Gaza arrested since Oct. 7, 2023.
