Spain’s weather agency Aemet lifted the red alert for heavy rain along Valencia’s coast early Monday, downgrading warnings as storm Emilia moved through without causing major incidents.

The alert was reduced to orange and then yellow in parts of Castellón, while the rest of the Valencian Community remains under a yellow warning for rain. Forecasters said showers could bring up to 20 liters per square meter in an hour or 60 liters in 12 hours.

Yellow warnings for thunderstorms remain in place in Alicante and Valencia until midday, and in Castellón until 6 p.m., with a chance of waterspouts forming offshore.

On Sunday, Emilia dumped maximum rainfall of 149 liters per square meter in La Font d’en Carròs (Valencia) and 113 liters at Borriana’s yacht club station in Castellón, according to the Associació Valenciana de Meteorologia.
