Austria’s exports to the United States fell 20.8 percent to 10.8 billion euros in the first 10 months of 2025, according to Statistics Austria.
The steepest drop came in medical and pharmaceutical products, with export volumes to the U.S. nearly halved, the agency said.
From January to October, Austria posted a trade deficit of 4.49 billion euros, a sharp reversal from the 2.89‑billion‑euro surplus recorded during the same period in 2024.
Across Austria’s four key export categories — machinery and vehicles, processed goods, chemical products and other manufactured goods — outbound shipments declined 1.8 percent, while imports rose 3.8 percent.
