Police in Paphos are investigating an online fraud case after a 79‑year‑old man reported that €1,460 had been taken from his bank account.
The man told officers he received a call on 30 January from someone claiming to be an employee of his online bank.
The caller said there had been an attempt to access his account and asked for his password.
He also instructed the man to install an application on his mobile phone and follow further steps.
The victim later discovered the money had been withdrawn without his authorization.
